So long, have some codes on my way out.
It is getting harder and harder to come up with the motivation to post- let alone post something constructive. And what little reward I was working to achieve has fallen by the way-side, as it probably should. So there’s nothing more for me to do than to whine and then give out some codes.
In general, I enjoy WAR. I am, and always will be fascinated by the lore developed by Games Workshop (NOT the books inspired by the game, god no.) But as far as the actual game; WAR lacks diversity. And I am not talking about sprite racial hue (although Altdorf is sorta homogenized, if you know what I mean…). RvR is not about skill or about tactic… it is about swarming the enemy while having enough time to focus on heated regional chat drama.
The live event is no more than grind this and grind that. OR better yet, chase the shiny deer for 10 minutes and get nothing in return.
I’m subbed through Novemberish… and who knows if I will resubmit. Lord knows I want my 2 year jubilee cloak.
I will likely drift from MMO to MMO, searching for a game that can balance creativity with coding.
It doesn’t help that WAR is constantly hemoraging subscribers for the most mundane issues. And as more and more of the people I know quit the game, there is nothing left for me to do.
But before I go… I have 10 codes I picked up from Games Day Chicago for Snorri Spikes/White Dwarf Beard/Mummy Wrap.
So, post your fairwells (all 5 of my readers) and of course, if you can make me chuckle, I’ll give you a code. If you can’t make me chuckle… I’ll tar and feather you.

A little Queen for ya bud. Been a long ride, and it’s been getting rougher with every patch. I can only hope they get something real in this game that brings people back with real numbers. Sadly, I don’t really see something like that coming. You’ve run a great blog here, lots of good quality stuff. Sad to see you go, but good luck on whatever else you’re getting into!

I did read on another blog that all STUN mechanics are being removed from the game, and a new spell that is a MEZ that is like a stun, but breaks on damage. The problem is this game is done. I logged on tonight to find 5/500 people on for Rhuin, and no one I even knew.

Obviously, you know that I see plenty of good moreso than the bad. But that’s my modus operandi, for a variety of reasons.
A lot of people are going to write off WAR - many already have. But they’re actually counting on the fact that you won’t pay attention to the game for a while. Not only will it be a reality check as to who remains, but the spotlight occupied by other MMOs will give Mythic a chance to recover and gain some equity back.
You know as well as I do from your brief interaction with them that they aren’t lazy. The latest interviews posted reflect a shift in movement and tone, and while some people want to call too little, too late, the alternative, that being doing nothing, is even more foolish.
If you aren’t enjoying something, and all you can do is whine and not be constructive, then yes, you shouldn’t be playing. That’s not an attack on you, and it’s not meant to be harsh, but it’s a simple fact that has kept me on the upswing and not being upset over what is supposed to be a hobby. Sorry to see you leave. Really enjoyed your blog. Heres hoping that something good will happen befor November and you’ll stay on. My work hours are becoming very boring with all the bloggers up and quiting.

Hobbies should be fun and if WAR isn’t fun to you then you should move on. Who gives a fuck what other people think, say or do. They don’t pay your subscription fees.
I hope things get worked out though. I would LOVE to see RVR changed to reflect that of DAoC. I just want to kill people. Give me some big open areas I can avoid the running Zerglings and I will live in this game.
